We operate the following platforms:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Website:<\/strong> uislamic.org<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Learning Management System (LMS):<\/strong> learn.uislamic.org<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Student Information System (SIS):<\/strong> sis.uislamic.org<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, apply for admission, or enroll as a student. It also describes your rights under applicable law, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Information You Provide Directly<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you submit an application for admission, we collect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full legal name (English and Arabic)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preferred name, date of birth, gender<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email address, phone numbers, mailing address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Country of birth, nationality<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prior education history (institution name, degree, GPA, graduation date)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal statement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Government-issued identification documents (uploaded to a secure portal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Official academic transcripts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrollment agreement (electronically signed)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FERPA acknowledgment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you contact us via email or web forms, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">B. Payment Information<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Application fees are processed securely through <strong>Stripe, Inc.<\/strong> IIU does not store your full credit card number, CVV, or payment card data. Stripe&#8217;s privacy practices are governed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/stripe.com\/privacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stripe Privacy Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">C. Information Collected Automatically<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you visit our website or LMS, we may collect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>IP address and approximate geographic location<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Browser type, operating system, device type<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pages visited, time spent, referring URLs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Login times and session activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">D. Student Privacy Rights \u2014 FERPA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are or have been enrolled at IIU, your educational records are protected under the <strong>Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)<\/strong> (20 U.S.C. \u00a7 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under FERPA, you have the right to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Inspect and review<\/strong> your education records within 45 days of a written request<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Request amendment<\/strong> of records you believe are inaccurate, misleading, or in violation of your privacy rights<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Consent to disclosures<\/strong> of personally identifiable information from your education records, except as FERPA permits without consent (e.g., to school officials with a legitimate educational interest, in connection with financial aid, or as required by law)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>File a complaint<\/strong> with the U.S. Department of Education if you believe IIU has violated your FERPA rights: <a href=\"https:\/\/studentprivacy.ed.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">studentprivacy.ed.gov<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Directory Information:<\/strong> IIU currently designates no information as &#8220;directory information.&#8221; No student information will be disclosed without written consent except as required by law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To exercise FERPA rights, submit a written request to <a href=\"mailto:privacy@uislamic.org\">privacy@uislamic.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. You may request deletion of non-educational records (see Section 8 below). Note: FERPA restricts the deletion of officially maintained education records for enrolled or previously enrolled students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Data Security<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Uploaded documents (transcripts, ID, agreements) are stored outside the publicly accessible web directory and are never directly accessible by URL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All connections to our website and portals are encrypted via HTTPS (TLS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to student records and uploaded documents is restricted to authorized IIU staff only<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment data is processed entirely by Stripe and never stored on IIU servers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We maintain an audit log of all accesses to sensitive student records<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. Children&#8217;s Privacy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our programs are intended for adult learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 13. If you believe a minor&#8217;s information has been submitted to us in error, contact <a href=\"mailto:privacy@uislamic.org\">privacy@uislamic.org<\/a> and we will promptly delete it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">10. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify enrolled students by email.
